Istanbul 6 Nov- 9 Nov

Turkey is not an Islamic Country, it is a democratic country. Istanbul is a modern and vigorous city.
The city is nhas a lot of bars, cafés, galleries and... Night is always young.   It was raining whole day. Nevertheless Istanbul is a great place for hanging out. There were so many people greet you ( 60 % were shopkeepers, they always show smiling face to you, you don't buy anything from them though).

I like this city, There is not high building or hotel along the strait to block your view (Malaysian government should learn from Turkish government). The architectures are unique and historic. It seem as a European city. There are so many people or tourists sitting at the cafes along the roadside, everyone is enjoying their lives, chatting and relaxing.

I tried Turkish tea and  alcohol (Alka). Awesome.

Turkish: friendly and helpful. Many of them give help to me so I can have a wonderful trip, I have no idea where to go.

Walking Day:
Galata Tower -Cross Galata Bridge - Feri Mosque - Spice Market - Grand Bazaar - The Blue Mosque  / - Aya Sofya - Topkapi Palace - Railway Station.

The trail from Taksim to Galata Towel is favourable at night time.

Currency Exchange
You can get the best rates inside Grand Bazaar. There are several exchange center inside the building. The currency exchange near Galata Tower and Spice Market are quite good. Nevertheless, some centre at Sultanahmet worse than the exchange rate in airport. The rates at Taksim and Galata Tower are favourable. There are plenty exchange centers, don't rush to get change. Make sure there is no commission.

My host : Serdaraiki
Serdar is humour and very helpful. He helped me to carry a 18 kg luggage to his sixth floor apartment. There is a great view from his home, you should never miss it. Besides, he is a great cook! He is good in singing and dancing too. It is very enjoyable to chat to him. This is my first couchsurfing experience and it is awesome and amazing.
